Florence / Firenze

We have made it to Florence.  The train was two hours of regrouping, resting, and listening to Button Cat britch and moan about being in the luggage compartment.  (Britch, because the little neice is reading this.)

It is very late here so just a quick list of what we have already done:

1.  Found hotel no problem.

2.  Great pasta dinner with dessert and wine...tiramasu and creme brulee.

3.  Walked by the Orno as far as Ponte Vecchio...then we had a debate.

4.  I won the debate with my charm and persuasion (also known as the Suzanne Hard Sell) and we walked up to the Piazzale Michaelangelo.  We turned around and came home around 11:30.  Mom was a trooper.  I was kind of a Nazi about the whole thing.  Eh.  We did it.  It was awesome.

5.  Came back to the hotel and revised our plans for 7:30 mass at the Duomo.  We are going to try the 6:00 PM instead.

Florence observations...cars.  Guys... CARS!!  We don't even know how to cross the streets anymore! Also, doors.  Big huge doors.

Bona note.  Everyone here is ready to fall into a coma.
