Once we left the plane and the drunk people and the mysterious woman, we had to board a train to Termini Station so we could board another train to Venice. We came very very close to being on the wrong train. When we realized our mistake, with the help of an American couple, I lept off the errant train and had to hold open the door of our wrong train so we could disembark and then leap across the platform to the right train.
Crisis averted. Once in Termini, it was short work to board the train to Venice. Four hours later we arrived. I cannot describe the magic of Venice. It is like no city I've ever been in before.
Our hotel room is small, but servicable. It is our most economical of our rooms for our trip. It is tucked into a neighborhood found only by meandering for about 15 minutes in the general direction and right when we are getting nervous, it appears.
Tonight we got settled in then went our for gelato first, then dinner, the vaparetto rides to see the Rialto Bridget at night.
Tomorrow we do the Ducale Palace, St. Marco's Basilica, and possibly go shopping on the Rialto bridge. Until then, ciao!
Glad you are already having a wonderful experience!
